I write humble stories of humble characters thrust into extraordinary situations, and grand epic tales of heroes at the horizon of wonder. I write speculative fiction to envision what the human race could be, if we could just break free from our shell (and occasionally to imagine what might happen if we don’t).

My latest publication is a story entitled “One Step Away” in the November-December issue of Analog Science Fiction and Fact. Despite the mess the world is in right now, I believe we’re on the cusp of getting our collective act together. This story is a look at how we might take that one step.
