This Saturday June 22nd, I’ll be at Indigo bookstore in Thunder Bay, signing copies of the L.Ron Hubbard Presents Writers of the Future Volume 40 anthology, which includes my story “Five Days Until Sunset”. The story won first place in the international Writers of the Future contest. The anthology includes eleven other winning stories, as well as breathtaking artwork by winners of the Illustrators of the Future contest.

As a writer, 2023 was a good year for me. Looking ahead, I have stories coming out in 2024 in Analog and in Writers of the Future vol. 40, and other stories making the rounds as they look for a home. Today, an online news service in the city where I live— Thunder Bay, Ontario—did a small profile on my winning the Writers of the Future contest for Volume 40, Quarter 3.

The third quarter winners for Volume 40 of Writers of the Future were announced a few days ago. And I’m still a bit discombobulated as I try to absorb that I won first place! You’ll be able to read my winning story at some point in 2024 when it comes out in the next WotF anthology.
